Didn't We Just Eat?
One of my first vivid memories is of my whole extended family being at my grandparent’s house for Sunday dinner (a common occurrence). My brother Andy and I were seated next to each other. I remember before the primo (the main course) there was antipasto, then a huge white tureen of homemade chicken soup. After the third course consisting of macaroni and meatballs, into the dining room walks my grandmother holding a tray with an enormous roast on it. I was so full at this point and couldn't comprehend what was going on. “Eat Eat” she said . I looked at my brother somewhat horrified and said, " Didn't we just eat?”
