A beautiful story my father told. This was during the Depression and happened quite a few times. My grandmother would serve my father and uncle dinner and tell them to eat. Then she would go back into the kitchen. They would ask her if she were going to eat with them. She would tell them that she wasn’t hungry or that she already ate. Unbeknownst to them at that time was the fact that there just wasn't enough food.
