Mary-Antonia Lombardi, aka MAL, was born, raised, and resides in Staten Island, New York. She is a professional artist who specializes in painting and sculpture. A big part of her artistic charm is her love of repurposing discarded materials.
MAL is also a professional curator. She has conceptualized, implemented, promoted, and installed numerous art exhibitions for artists in her hometown.
She has had numerous solo exhibits and participated in many group shows. In 2013, out of 1,900 submissions, she was one of 150 artists selected for the “Curate NYC Exhibitions: Brooklyn” show.
In 2019, MAL was awarded a DCA Premier Grant from Staten Island Arts to produce her “Growing Up (Mostly) Italian” show. In 2022, she was awarded a DCA Arts Grant through Staten Island Arts to write and illustrate a children’s book about her hometown of Port Richmond. In 2025, she received a DCLA Art Fund Grant, again through Staten Island Arts, for her exhibit, “In The Neighborhood".
Over the years, MAL has sold to numerous private collectors from all over the country, as well as Finland, Sweden, Ireland, and Nevis.
